Safety - Pace - Agency: What Teens need from a Linguistic Phonics Intervention
A Talk by Tricia Millar (That Reading Thing)
About this Talk
Adolescents who struggle with reading, no matter what their circumstances, have three things in common:
- Fear of being embarrassed and a range of emotional responses to not being able to do what their peers do with ease
- Knowledge about English that they don’t yet know they have
- The feeling that reading (and often education in general) is not for them.
In this session Tricia will demonstrate how That Reading Thing makes linguistic phonics truly age-appropriate for teenagers in any setting.
