About this Talk
In this session, Dr. Gerard Belackas and Mrs. Allison Curran, both educators from the Lynbrook Public Schools, discuss their implementation of the Sounds-Write program in the schools. They explain the shift from a print to speech approach, to a speech to print approach and how this change has had a positive impact on students' early literacy skills.
They also discuss the challenges faced during the pandemic, and how they adjusted their teaching strategies to address the needs of their students.
